Monday, May 16th, 2011Before you have anyone work on your RE/MAX website regarding SEO ( Search Engine Optimization) = showing up in search engines, preferrably in top 10 organic results:

READ: Google Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide
Find out: Exactly what are they are going to do on your site.
Ask them to provide other websites they have worked on with ( Keywords and Keyword Phrases) and the websites current placement on Google/Yahoo and other major search engines.
Note: Keyword Phrases= Phrases potential real estate buyers and sellers would type in a search. Example: anytown real estate for sale
Do not rely too much on your name getting you to the top of the results to obtain more leads, most potential buyers and sellers do not know your name yet, they will use genetic search terms.
TIP: Regardless of what you have been told, adding a | in between words in the title does not give you “extra points” with google. Contact me at doloresbozza@gmail.com to find out why we use them.
TIP: Noone likes broken links, especially search engines. If you had someone work on your site and you have broken links, contact that person right away to correct it.
TIP: There is a difference between HTML and PHP.
For anyone who now has my old spreadsheet …Please contact me for the new one…way more directories! If you do have the old spreadsheet and received it from anyone else but me…please change the profiles. It is not going to help you if you use the same wording I already used.
